Community & youth leadership
More than 29 years supporting young people and communities through engagement, education, mentoring and practical personal development.
Cycle mechanic. Community educator. Youth mentor. Civic leader. Building a business where commercial expertise creates practical value for the people and places around it.
Eddie founded UrbanBikeGuy in 2020 after years of seeing how cycling could solve immediate problems and open longer-term opportunities.
Across six years, the business has built a strong local reputation for reliable mobile bicycle repairs, emergency call-outs and customer-focused support. Its success comes from technical knowledge, honest communication and a genuine commitment to helping people remain active and independent.
Eddie brings more than 16 years of cycling-industry experience and over 29 years working with young people and communities. That combination allows UrbanBikeGuy to go beyond maintenance: each interaction can teach a skill, increase confidence, strengthen a relationship or create a route into work.
“The bike is the starting point. Confidence, independence and connection are the real destination.”
More than 29 years supporting young people and communities through engagement, education, mentoring and practical personal development.
Over 16 years working with bicycles, from everyday maintenance and emergency diagnosis to complex repairs, custom builds and mechanic training.
Established in South London in 2020 to provide flexible, customer-focused mobile repairs when traditional shops are unavailable.
Expanding the business into a community cycling organisation aligned with active travel, well-being, youth engagement, lifelong learning and environmental sustainability.
Eddie’s civic leadership is not separate from UrbanBikeGuy’s commercial offer. It makes the business more trusted, more relevant and more capable of delivering meaningful outcomes.
Deep community experience supports respectful communication, reliable delivery and long-term relationships with residents and partners.
Services can respond to real barriers around confidence, cost, access, health, skills and belonging rather than offering a one-size-fits-all activity.
A clear understanding of community priorities helps UrbanBikeGuy work effectively with councils, schools, housing associations, health providers and employers.
Decades of frontline practice create welcoming learning environments for different ages, backgrounds, abilities and starting points.
Commercial work can support practical outcomes in active travel, employability, well-being, youth development and environmental responsibility.
Repair and training income can be reinvested into community initiatives, reducing reliance on grants while protecting a personal local service.
